Working on yourself-means working on your health

“I tell everyone one thing and do another”
“I come home from work, and I don’t have the strength to say a kind word to my relatives”
“I put off till tomorrow what I can do today”
“Everyone wants something from me, everyone wants to deceive me”
“He deserved it, he shouldn’t have offended me!”

These phrases, confessions, it turns out, are like speaking names in the literature of the era of classicism—they can tell a lot about a person. And the most important information that can be extracted from them, of course, is about health!

Indeed, the work of our internal organs and channels, the circulation of energy, affect all processes associated with human activity. This also applies to spiritual activity—thoughts, emotions and feelings. Each problematic issue of the body is a signal that a person has certain disorders that manifest themselves in the form of life difficulties at different levels. Let’s talk more about how health affects the formation of values.

Taoist knowledge about man and nature is comprehensive, so for Tao masters we are an open book. Wuxing studies a person through his energy system. Like the circulatory system, this system is just as holistic and ordered. It is a system of channels—that is, a set of vessels supplying our body with energy. The system of channels permeates the entire human body, it also includes our internal organs, which thus receive a supply of energy. The system is built in such a way that all channels are connected in the brain. Thus, the functioning of the entire nervous system depends on how healthy our internal organs and their channel systems are.

Lungs—truth, justice

The lungs are involved in the process of obtaining clean natural energy, are responsible for keeping the respiratory tract clean. These functions correlate with the desire of a person to live honestly and reasonably, to do good deeds, to strive for truth and justice. The healthier the lungs, the stronger these qualities are in a person.

Kidneys—wisdom

The kidneys are the guardians of energy, and wisdom is the wealth of accumulated knowledge and experience, their reasonable and appropriate use. The kidneys are responsible for the retention and storage of energy. If kidney function is disturbed, then the body accumulates energy poorly—a person weakens, his activity and immunity decrease, and the risk of developing diseases increases.

Heart—order

This refers to the order of actions that have a spiritual and symbolic meaning. If a person has a healthy heart, then he has order in his life and in his head. He always acts consistently, makes balanced and well-considered decisions, knows how to control emotions and actions, make plans and implement them. He has an unshakable will, he is executive and obligatory.

Spleen—trust

According to the theory of Wuxing, the spleen is the element earth, and on the earth, as you know, everything is held together. The spleen, in turn, performs a raising function, i.e. plays an important role in maintaining the internal organs of a fixed position. Disease of the spleen leads to prolapse of the internal organs.

Liver—love

The liver, in our body—regulates the movement of energy, performs a dissipating function. A strong liver supplies the body with energy well. If the liver becomes ill, then there is a stagnation of energy—other organs will certainly suffer. Therefore, a person with a healthy liver is a happy person who is always in a good mood and enjoys life. According to the theory of Wuxing, the liver is the element tree, and the tree is life, clan, family, brotherhood, love. Thus, the liver is associated with a person’s ability to truly love. A person with a diseased liver is an egoist.

Now let’s return to the statements that we cited at the beginning of the article. Look at them again and guess what qualities the person who said them lacks. Beware the clue:

To deceive yourself and others—there is a problem with the lungs;
There is not enough wisdom to say a kind word—it’s in the kidneys;
Procrastination—heart;
Prejudice—spleen;
Anger, resentment—the liver.
